وأنا كنت عم علم تلاميذ كتير
And I was teaching many students
وفي كتير منهم ما كانوا يعرفوا شي أبداً
and many of them didn't know anything at all
بالعربي، من الصفر، يعني بلشوا معي من الصفر.
in Arabic, from zero, I mean they started with me from zero.
وبعد فترة عم بحكي مع التلاميذ
And after a while I'm speaking with the students
وعم قول لهم أنتو هلا صرتوا تعرفوا
and I'm telling them you now you know
كتير كلمات وبتعرفوا كتير أشياء بالعربي،
many words and you know many things in Arabic,
هلا صار وقت إنه تبلشوا تسمعوا،
now it's time to start listening,
listen to anything in Arabic,
فتحضروا شي على التي في، مسلسل،
prepare something on TV, a series,
فكل التلاميذ صاروا يقولوا لي
So all the students started telling me
إنه إنه ما عم نلاقي، ما عم نلاقي يعني ما في،
that we can't find, we can't find I mean there isn't,
أو إنه يمكن في فيديوز بدون ترجمة
or that maybe there are videos without translation
to English we don't understand,
أو بيحكوا كتير بسرعة بالمسلسل،
or they speak very fast in the series,
أو يمكن في البودكاست باللبناني،
or maybe there are podcasts in Lebanese,
نحن اللبنانية كتير بنحب نحكي بالإنجلش،
we Lebanese love to speak in English very much,
فكتير بيحكوا بالإنجلش يعني بالبودكاست،
so they speak a lot in English I mean in the podcast,
half English half Arabic,
فهيدا الشي إنه مش كتير عم بيساعدنا.
so this thing doesn't help us much.
وأنا يعني قلت إنه إيه ليش لا،
And I mean I said yes why not,
ليش ما أنا ليش ما أنا بعمل هيدا المشروع،
why don't I why don't I make this project,
أو ليش ما أنا بعمل هيدي الفيديوز
or why don't I make these videos
أو هيدا البودكاست وبساعد هدول التلاميذ
or this podcast and help these students
إنه يسمعوا ويفهموا ويتعلموا أحسن وأكتر،
to listen and understand and learn better and more,
and from here the idea came.
